Honey Dippin’

Home/Honey Dippin'/Cactus/Honey Dippin’

Recently I have discovered that taking a spoon of local honey every day helps me alleviate allergies.   It truly works!   There are so many beautiful flowers in the desert to enjoy throughout the year.

We discovered  True Love Honey based out of Tucson AZ.   The Mesquite is my favorite and has such a unique taste.  I use a honey dipper to drizzle the honey into my tea which inspired me and helped me decide what to do with my cholla cactus.

Cholla cactus is sometimes called jumping cactus.  Whatever brushes against one of the thorns it will stick. The inside of the cholla has a skeleton honeycomb like structure and when dried it becomes hard like wood.

I love the look and decided to make a few honey dippers:

I had a little bit of Mesquite left with some interesting grain and added bits of real turquoise so I topped some honey dippers with them.

Now and then I get a little shop time and will create more of these.  Let me know what you think of them and please check back in to see what’s new.
